What you feature in the picture are not tights, they are leggings and I agree that they do not belong in the office. Tights, however, are opaque hosiery that for those of us who wear skirts during the winter are a neccessity.

By tights do you mean leggings or hosiery? Whats your definition of tights? I think Hosiery really steps up the outfit and makes it more formal in a way that the trendy tights/leggings lack. Could you be a bit more specific on your disdain?
